Meet  Carlos Chavira @aguywithajeep  | DIY Jeep Builder & Longtime Friend of the House

From the garage to the big stage, Carlos Chavira, aka @aguywithajeep, is the very definition of what it means to be a true DIY builder. Based out of Charlotte, Carlos has spent the last six years wrenching, filming how-to content, and pushing the limits of his Jeep build. Along the way, he’s become more than just a familiar face at East Coast Jeep events; he’s become a go-to voice among the Jeep community.
Carlos’s passion isn’t just about building a rad rig, it’s about walking others through the process. His YouTube breaks down installs, swaps, and upgrades in a way that inspires other Jeep enthusiasts to pick up a wrench and tackle projects themselves. One of his biggest milestones? Completing an LS swap that took his Jeep to a whole new level of performance. The results set a new bar for other DIY builders in the space and earned Carlos exposure across the industry.
It’s no surprise his Jeep has been showcased by some of the most respected names in off-road, including Baja Designs, Yukon Gear & Axle, PRP Seats, Mickey Thompson Tires, Holley, and Spot. Now rolling on THRET® 601 Forged Beadlocks, Carlos has leveled up his build once again, and he’s ready to test it on the toughest trails out there.

I figured if I’m doing it for the first time, someone else out there is also doing it for the first time.

Watch the full interview here.

With plans to bring his Jeep to the West Coast for King of the Hammers and Easter Jeep Safari, his setup will soon meet the rocks of Johnson Valley and Moab. On the East Coast, Carlos is a regular at events like Jeep Beach and Smoky Mountain Jeep Invasion. He’s a strong supporter of the community, a skilled content creator, and the kind of ambassador we’re proud to stand behind. We’re stoked to have him repping THRET®, and we can’t wait to showcase his Jeep at the THRET® booth next year.

This wasn’t just another shoot; it was a reminder of what makes this community different: the stories we tell, the miles we share, and the people who bring these builds to life. More from our East Coast ambassadors is on the way, stay tuned!
